radio on interviews by rinus van alebeek and adrian shephard @ staalplaat : 38 flugafen str , berlin
Radio on The Moon (idiosyncratic moondialogues)
Radio on Darwin (syntho-creationistatic talks on Darwin and other topics of global importance)
Christopher Williams, double bass player born and raised in San Diego, recently moved from Barcelona to Berlin. He talks about the natural history of the double bass, being born and raised in San Diego, his life and times in Barcelona and his Berlin expectations
I Wei, artist or non artist born in Taiwan, but raised in Canada, wants to talk about the unhappy affair that artists are used to upgrade a neighborhood and then kicked out of it. She also wants to raise the topic of creating a new language to express the values of the skills of those artists who live to survive. Somehow she never comes to it. The questions and side remarks move the interview to ever more remote absurdisms. This Interview was recorded very late at night in the kitchen of the staalplaat working space.
Momus, almost three hour talk in momus’s own blog style, relaxed, sometimes to the point, elegantly hopping from one topic to the other, never causing pain: a nice example of a woodfire talk.
Craig Baldwin, an insight in the works of the master of cut up movies.
The History and Present of Staalplaat: while the staalplaat store was still dressed up with parcels, pieces of furniture, numerous cd’-s and thus resembled more one of the many thrift stores on the Flughafenstrasse in Berlin, Adrian Shephard and me (Rinus van Alebeek) from Radio On sat down with Geert Jan Hobijn and Guillaume Siffert to talk about Türkische Kunst, the Dutch Queen Attack, Taxi’s circling the Siegessäule, washing machines and vacuum cleaners, New Delhi Jet lags, Berlin Mitte, the early, present and future days of Staalplaat, Nazi uniforms and much more.
The interview was part of the Radiophonic Creation Day on the 23rd of May.
